Founder

Walter is the Founder of Panferra Company Limited
Walter has 30+ years of experience in the finance industry. From which, over 20 years were with HSBC Group institutions and he last position in the HSBC bank was one of the 5 global heads of insider risk management responsible for the operations and execution of 17 countries and jurisdictions throughout Asia Pacific region. His domain knowledge, such as Fraud Mitigation Strategies and Implementation, Anti Money Laundering systems and implementation, Compliance Strategies and Optimization, and various kinds of crisis management.

Besides, Walter has over two decades of experience in the bank card business, from product development to business fraud mitigation, from operations to marketing & sales, from customer experience to business evolution.

Most recently, as a Deputy Head of Fraud Risk in a top local bank in Hong Kong, Walter was responsible for managing a variety of fraud risk mitigation and prevention strategies, incident management, as well as tackling with regulators and law enforcement from his domain expert.

Wilson Lau

Wilson is a highly experienced corporate banker with almost twenty years of expertise in SME, MMEs and large corporate banking with several global banks. His areas of expertise include comprehensive corporate advisory, client acquisition and due diligence, antimoney laundering regulation and process, transaction banking (payment and remittance) and liquidity and cash management. He is also an expert in credit lending, corporate finance, and trade finance (including factoring and forfeiting). He is also well-versed in ECM/DCM deal structuring, including IPO and debt issuance. He has a deep understanding of the FinTech, RegTech, and RiskTech sectors. He has also gained extensive experience in financial service licensing in the UK, Europe, Hong Kong, and Singapore markets. He has successfully assisted numerous companies in obtaining licenses for banking, EMI, PSP, Money Service Provider, Money Lender, and other roles.

Wilson holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University College London
in the UK.

Gary Leung

Executive Officer

Gary is the Executive Officer of Panferra Company Limited

Gary has over 20 years of work experience and has built a successful career as a senior
leader, with experience across a broad range of disciplines. Prior to joining Panferra Company Limited, Gary worked as a teacher in local schools, where he provided invaluable support to students. He has a specialisation in strategic leadership and organisational
development.

Gary joins Panferra in 2024 as Executive Officer, with primary responsibility for providing administrative execution and personal advisor to the Founder.

Gary holds a Bachelor of Education from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a
Postgraduate Diploma in Education Leadership from the University of Bristol.

Lester is the Business Engagement Manager of Panferra Company Limited

Lester brings a distinctive combination of academic excellence and practical expertise to his role at KPMG in Hong Kong by providing advice to a diverse range of industries, including insurance, banking, and financial institutions such as The Bank of East Asia, Daiwa Securities Group, and China Taiping Insurance, among others. His expertise in banking, fintech, and data analytics, coupled with his in-depth knowledge of complex IT environments, makes him a highly versatile and invaluable asset in navigating the complex landscape of information risk management and financial technology.

In 2024, Lester joined Panferra as a Business Engagement Manager. His responsibilities include cross-border payment systems, big data analytics, and cutting-edge financial
technology projects. His diverse background allows him to offer clients innovative solutions and strategic insights, effectively combining traditional finance with advanced digital technologies.

Lester holds dual Master’s degrees in Banking and Digital Finance from University College London and Banking and Finance from Queen Mary University of London in the UK.

Roy

CTO

Roy is an IT professional with over 15 years of experience in software development,
system architecture, database design, networking, and project management.
His expertise encompasses various sectors, including media, telecommunications, software consulting, and banking.

He began his career with media platforms such as on.cc and roadshow.com.hk, concentrating on website development,
mobile applications, search engine optimization (SEO), and digital marketing.

He subsequently specialized in custom software solutions for a variety of industries.

At Hutchison Telecommunications, Roy developed accounting and warehouse management systems.

Roy developed accounting and warehouse management systems. At Chong Hing Bank, he re-engineered core banking systems
and played a pivotal role in a significant banking transformation project,
thereby enhancing his expertise in fintech infrastructure.

Roy is adept at leading cross-functional teams and managing projects from requirements to project release,
making him an asset in both development and leadership roles.
